I have had a love for the lifestyle, methods and taste of barbecue since I was a kid. Being born and raised in Southern Tennessee, barbecue was more than just food; it stood as a means to gather with friends and family and kept you honest.
As I grew up, and became interested in cooking, barbecue became my main interest. When I got his first smoker, a Weber Smokey Mountain, I quickly learned that barbecue was something you cannot rush and demanded attention to every detail. Needless to say, I was hooked.
I fire up my smoker regularly and am on the constant hunt for improvement. BBQ Southern was founded from this passion and love of barbecue and seeks to provide a sense of value, community and learning to its readers.
